It is amazing how many things there are to think about when you go out looking for your first SLR or DSLR camera.
Photography has just so many levels, options, and creative opportunities. Choosing your options is much like choosing your writing path, or your niche in marketing.
The first step is to decide what you want to do with the camera:
- Photojournalism
- Photographic study of architecture
- Portraiture
- News
- Extreme sports
- Weather
- Advertising
- Landscapes and gardens
- Fashion
- Wildlife
- Underwater
- Scenery
This is a very limited list of the types of work you can concentrate on, but each one will have special features you should look for in your camera.
Do you want to take pictures to share with family and friends or do you want to sell them? How will you display these photos?
- As screen savers on your computer
- As postcards
- Enlarged and framed
- On Canvas
- On line
Each type of photography and the end product all have many factors to consider:
- ISO sensitivity
- Frames per second rate
- Autofocus speeds
- Sensors
- Aperture
- Shutter speed
- White balance
If you are as new to this world as I am, this is all just a little confusing. Let me share a few links with you that I have found helpful.
Please feel free to send me links you have used as you research your options, if they have been helpful to you.
happy to see uyou back at it again, and ooh my too many choices!
